LESLEY ANN MACHADO show host, reporter, actor and dancer hosts "AMERICAN SHOPPER" on the FINE LIVING NETWORK and can still be seen on the TV GUIDE NETWORK. Most recently she was the host for the NBC syndicated show LATIN ACCESS and co-host for TBS “THE MOVIE BREAK”. She is currently host of “Pulse of The Ports” Prior to crossing over into the general market LESLEY was the host of the hit show “CONTROL” on Univision for 5 years. She also served as a spokeswoman for Univision and Univision.com along with her co-host Oscar de la Hoya and continues to work with Univision most recently hosting the pre-show for Premios Juventud.
LESLEY ANN recently received rave reviews for her acting starring in the production of “CUTTING OPEN WINGS” at the Met Theatre.
LESLEY has been performing since her parents first enrolled her in dance class at the age of five. She fell in love with dancing and waltzed her way into the world of the arts. LESLEY competed and won many prestigious dance events, which inspired her to pursue and audition for professional dance roles.
LESLEY’s dream started to become a reality when she obtained the role of a lead dancer in an Off Broadway Show called “SERENATA ANTILLANA” with the famous Cuban composer and singer Meme Solis. Shortly thereafter, a producer working for WXTV Channel 41 with the Univision network saw her brilliant performance in the show and determined that she was made for television and offered LESLEY a job at the station. WXTV 41 UNIVISION was the number one rated Spanish television show in the New York Area and she started there as a production assistant, producing promos, assisting in run down preparations, and anything else she could do to learn about television. As a result of her persistence and determination, LESLEY became the stations weather anchor at the prime young age of nineteen.
Her success as a weather anchor enabled her to be selected as the New York Correspondent for an International Teen Lifestyle show in the making called “CONTROL”. She was selected to co-host, along with internationally famous singer Carlos Ponce. Shortly after, Carlos left to promote his singing career and LESLEY became the star of the now internationally acclaimed show called “CONTROL”.
The show was being seen in ninety-two (92%) of all Hispanic Homes in the U.S. and in eighteen (18) different countries all televised through Univision and affiliates. LESLEY had become a staple of entertainment in most Hispanic Households and quickly became known as the thrill seeking, mischievous funny girl who would rather hike, parachute, or cave explore, than be just another TV host.
But LESLEY ANN had her sights on Hollywood, and within 6 months of moving from Miami she was hosting “LATIN ACCESS” for NBC and Co-hosting “MOVIE BREAK” for the TBS Network. She is currently one of the hosts of THE TV GUIDE NETWORK, now home to the incomparable Joan and Melissa Rivers. She has had the pleasure of interviewing some of the hottest stars working today from Jude Law, Collin Farrell, George Clooney, and Julia Roberts, to most recently one of her idols, Sir Sean Connery. She has become one of the “ones to talk to” on the red carpet. Her interviews are always fun and fresh!
Her enormous exposure in both the General and Latino Market has attracted major corporations. She has been a spokesperson for Pepsi, Ford, Fannie Mae and Burger King to name a few. One of LESLEY ANN’s proudest moments in her career was being chosen as the host of Proctor and Gamble’s national cross-country tour “TOTALMENTE LATINA” - a conference geared to promote good health, education and self esteem to young Latina girls and their mothers.
